The HB Toys R1002-B Bronco Brushless RC Crawler is a feature-packed 1/10 scale 4WD off-road truck designed for rock crawling, trail driving, climbing, and scale RC adventures. Finished in Red, it combines a Bronco-style body with a capable straight-axle crawler platform and an extensive range of remotely controlled functions.
Power comes from an external-rotor brushless motor paired with a Hobbywing brushless ESC, while the drivetrain features front and rear electronic differential locks and a selectable two-speed transmission. A DumboRC X10 10-channel radio system, remote-operated electric winch, oil-filled shocks, LED lighting, and adjustable drag brake provide the control expected from a hobby-grade trail crawler.
A 7.4V 3000mAh 2S Li-ion battery is included, providing approximately 25–30 minutes of runtime.
The HB Toys R1002-B moves away from the conventional brushed crawler setup and uses an external-rotor brushless motor with a Hobbywing brushless ESC.
This combination provides responsive power delivery while the ESC’s adjustable drag brake allows the braking behaviour to be tuned for crawling. The vehicle reaches speeds of up to approximately 18 km/h, providing enough performance for open trails while retaining the control required for slower off-road driving.
The electronics support both 2S and 3S lithium batteries, giving hobbyists additional flexibility when selecting a power setup.
One of the major advantages of the R1002-B is its remotely operated front and rear differential locking system.
The differentials can be controlled according to driving conditions, allowing the drivetrain to be configured for easier turning or increased traction when tackling difficult terrain.
When additional grip is required for rocks, steep climbs, mud, or uneven trails, the differential locks help transfer power more effectively through the drivetrain.
A remotely controlled fast/slow gear system gives the Bronco crawler two distinct driving characteristics.
Use the lower gear when precise throttle response is important for climbing and technical crawling. Switch to the higher gear when driving across open trails or when additional speed is preferred.
Combined with its brushless motor and selectable differential locks, the two-speed transmission gives the R1002-B considerable versatility.
Control is provided through a DumboRC X10 transmitter with X80DC receiver.
The 10-channel 2.4GHz system provides the additional channels required to operate the truck’s various functions, including drivetrain and accessory controls.
Remote range is approximately 150 metres under suitable operating conditions.
A functional electric front winch adds both scale realism and practical trail functionality.
The winch can be operated remotely, making it useful for simulated vehicle recovery and challenging trail situations while adding another interactive feature to the crawler.
The suspension uses oil-filled shock absorbers to provide more controlled movement across rough terrain.
TPR high-grip rubber tires help generate traction across rocks, dirt, gravel, and other off-road surfaces. The crawler also uses a straight-axle configuration suited to trail and rock-crawling applications.
The Red Bronco-style body is complemented by LED lighting and breathing-light effects, giving the R1002-B a distinctive appearance during evening driving.
